Interpretation Manager
Weald and Downland Living Museum
Location: West Sussex
Hours: Full Time
Salary: Up to £35,000 dependant on experience

We are an award winning, internationally recognised Living Museum with 50 historic buildings and gardens set in the beautiful South Downs National Park. With extraordinary buildings, fascinating artefacts, glorious surroundings and friendly, dedicated people, the Weald and Downland Living Museum is a unique and rewarding place to work.
We are currently seeking a creative, enthusiastic and innovative Interpretation Manager to oversee the Interpretation Team consisting of staff, volunteers and freelance interpreters, and develop a new strategy for interpretation that delivers compelling stories and inspiring experiences for our audiences.
Working closely with colleagues across the Museum, you will ensure that the content and delivery of interpretation meets audiences’ needs and exceeds their expectations, whilst ensuring historical accuracy and integrity.
To fulfil the role you will need significant experience of conceiving and delivering inclusive, participatory, audience-focused interpretation in a heritage or museum environment. You’ll have a collaborative approach, combined with excellent communication and organisational skills, and will feel comfortable balancing multiple deadlines and prioritising tasks.
Please note that the role will require flexibility with working hours and will involve some weekend and evening working.
